The QSP Point-Of-Sale cafeteria software system allows the user to simply choose the student and their lunch items. The software calculates the total amount owed and can deduct it from the student's balance.

During the transaction, the student’s photo and PIN appear on the screen, along with “buttons” for each food item offered, the student’s current balance, student’s meal status (in user-defined code), the time and the date of the transaction.

To ‘check out’ the student, just enter (touch) the button for the food items purchased. A list describing those items appears along with the quantity chosen, cost of each item, and a subtotal. When the transaction is completed, the total can be automatically deducted from the student’s pre-paid balance stored within QSP. A receipt for each transaction can be printed if a receipt printer is installed.
