Meet Brett Couture, outdoorsman, cycling enthusiast and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Rediker Software. Learn more about Brett and how his department is leading the way in school software development in this month's Meet the Rediker Software Family.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Brett: I grew up in Springfield, MA and went to college at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester, NY. I worked all over New England before coming to Rediker Software in July 2015.
What is your current role at Rediker?
Brett: As Chief Technology Officer I serve as the chief architect and development manager for the company. I’m responsible for all development projects, production systems, infrastructure, and security.
Last year you helped celebrate the opening of our new development floor with the addition of 40 new development team members. How did you attract and build Rediker Software’s new development team? What were you looking for in a candidate?
Brett: I think the team was attracted to Rediker Software for the same reason I was first attracted to the company - the culture at Rediker Software allows team members to excel at software development. We work in cutting edge technology, on the latest platforms, and we deliver software using sophisticated tooling. I find that the best candidates want to remain current and want to perform at the highest level. I look for individuals with a passion for technology and a willingness to be lifelong learners. Those individuals thrive in an environment like ours because we nurture their talents and encourage them to explore new technology.
