Meet the Rediker Software Family
January 2015

Meet Kevin Mack, Senior Trainer, hardcore world traveler, and father to two adorable little girls. Learn more about Kevin, his hobbies, favorite travels and what his job at Rediker entails in this month's Meet the Rediker Software Family.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your family?
Kevin: I grew up in Indianapolis and attended Indiana University/Purdue University at Indianapolis (UIPUI). I have two daughters; Rooney and Pippa. My favorite hobbies are playing “Marching Band” or having an indoor picnic with Rooney, and trying to get Pip to fall asleep on my chest.
What did you do before coming to Rediker Software?
Kevin: I was Director of IT and Facilities at a high school in Indianapolis. One of my goals was to replace the school’s antiquated student information system, and in my research I found Rediker. I was so impressed with the company’s products and people, I ended up working for the reseller in my area. After a few years with the reseller, I decided it was time to work directly for Rediker Software and now here I am, 10 years later!
What is your current position at Rediker Software?
Kevin: I am a Senior Trainer so I help new and existing users learn how to get the most they can out of our products. Some of my work is done online, but the majority is onsite at the schools. I also demonstrate our software to schools at roadshows around the country and sometimes overseas.. Do you know approximately how many miles you have traveled and how many countries you have visited with Rediker Software? Kevin: Not counting my travel in the states, I’ve flown 466,880 miles to 99 cities in 26 countries.
Wow, that’s a lot of traveling! What is the most memorable place you have visited as a trainer?
Kevin: It’s hard to pick just one memorable place. Some things that come to mind are walking past the Coliseum in Rome on my way to work each day, losing my wallet during a visit to the Egyptian Pyramids (it’s funny now but I wasn’t laughing back then), roaming around in Petra after a training in Jordan, how the sky looks so enormous in Mongolia, and the sights and sounds of Paris.
You just celebrated your 10 year work anniversary with Rediker Software this month. First, congratulations! Second, what do you like most about your job?
Kevin: Thank you! I really love teaching and learning, helping people to be more comfortable with our software, knowing that they, in turn, are helping teachers and students. It’s made the past 10 years very rewarding for me.
What Rediker Software developments are you most excited about?
Kevin: A few years ago, we started developing our TeacherPlus Gradebook and PlusPortals, among other new products. We’re seeing the benefit of all of the innovative changes in our development processes and in how we’re using the latest technology. I think this is just the beginning, and that our future will be amazing.
Can you share an interesting fact about yourself?
Kevin: I once travelled almost 36,000 miles in just over two weeks for work; I went from Chicago to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia via the Pacific, returned to Chicago for a day, flew Transatlantic to Dubai and then returned to Chicago. That’s approximately 1.5 times around the earth!
