Introducing a new series of interviews to help you become better acquainted with the Rediker Software Family. From sales to training, support to marketing, product development to management, each member of the Rediker Software Family plays a crucial role in delivering and supporting our products. We look forward to introducing our staff and sharing their unique stories with you.
This week we spoke with Director of Training Teresa Helton.

Can you tell us about yourself and your family?
Teresa: Sure! I grew up on a large cattle ranch in the panhandle of Texas and have been married to my husband, Cloid, a former coach, athletic director and principal, for 37 years. I have two children who both work in schools. My daughter is a high school math teacher and varsity track coach while my son is an athletic director, varsity football and track coach and the father of my two precious granddaughters.
I have spent my entire life in schools, even now as I continue to stay involved with the schools that my children work in. I live in Frisco, Texas and enjoy spending time with my family, attending various sporting events and being active in my church.
What did you do before coming to Rediker?
Teresa: Before coming to Rediker I spent 16 years working at a private school in El Paso, Texas as a sixth grade teacher then high school drama teacher, administrative assistant and secretary to the superintendent. Four years into working at the school, Administrator’s Plus was purchased to manage student and staff data. For 12 years I used the program daily, starting when it was still in DOS!
How did you go from being an AdminPlus user to working for Rediker?
Teresa: My husband Cloid had been to many Rediker workshops and had developed a great relationship with Rich Rediker. When Cloid decided to go work for the company back in 2001, Rich asked me to come on board as well since I was an avid AdminPlus user. I am proud to say that I have been associated with Rediker Software for 25 years – 12 years as a customer and now 13 years as an employee, starting off in tech support, becoming a trainer and then the promotion to Director of Training.
What does the Director of Training do at Rediker?
Teresa: As the Director of Training, I am responsible for all aspects of training our customers; from the implementation of a new school to the continuing education of our established customers. This is accomplished through web training, onsite training and multiple workshops.
What do you like most about working at Rediker?
Teresa: I love that many customers whom I have worked with over the years have become wonderful friends. I greatly enjoy seeing their eyes light up during a training when they realize how much the software is going to help make their school lives easier. I am also really excited about all of our new products and look forward to even greater things in the future. Having used the software starting with DOS to now being able to have AdminPlus on my iPad is really incredible. It has been a fun journey and being a trainer “keeps you on your toes” to continually learn new and faster ways to accomplish school office tasks.
