Rediker Software employees helped over 100 senior citizens in need collect food before the holidays at the Emergency Food Pantry’s (EFP) Senior Day in Springfield, MA yesterday. Employees from the educational technology company based in Hampden, MA guided senior citizens through the pantry’s shelves and assisted in selecting items from the various food groups.

“It truly was a rewarding experience helping those in the community at the Emergency Food Pantry,” said CEO of Rediker Software Richard Rediker. “The experience was eye-opening. It is easy to forget that there are people going hungry in our very own community.”

Rediker Software employees volunteered at the EFP this past Friday as well, helping stock the shelves in time for Senior Day. The company offers its staff the opportunity to volunteer in the community during work time through its employee volunteer program Rediker CARES Project.

Operated by Open Pantry, the EFP has been providing groceries to individuals and families on an emergency basis since 1975. Last year they served over 30,000 people, half of whom were children.
