Rediker Software, a leader in school administrative software, has released its next generation TeacherPlus Gradebook, built with the advanced HTML5 framework and powered by Microsoft Azure. HTML5 offers cross-browser compatibility without requiring plug-ins, allowing the gradebook to work on any computer, in any browser, including the newest versions of Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
As a company committed to the best in upcoming technologies, Rediker Software’s newest version of TeacherPlus Gradebook was created with the HTML5 framework to offer greater speed and a responsive user experience on mobile devices. It also has an improved user interface that is sharp and modern.
“We are very excited about the newest release of TeacherPlus Gradebook and the benefits it will provide to our thousands of customers,” said TeacherPlus and PlusPortals Program Manager Mariana Rocha. “TeacherPlus Gradebook with HTML5 will allow teachers who work at multiple sites, or who want the convenience of working at home, to get instant access to current gradebook data from any computer, without a plug-in.”
The HTML5 version of the teacher gradebook was developed with the assistance of Rediker’s customers, Rocha noted. “We listen! Our team has developed this program based on valuable customer feedback and educational best practices. And users can access TeacherPlus anytime, anywhere by using Macs, PCs, Chromebooks, iPads, and Android tablets.”
The HTML5 version of TeacherPlus Gradebook offers dozens of feature enhancements, including:
- Weighting: In the HTML5 version of the gradebook you can adjust category weights through the Grading menu. When you choose to weight categories, you can customize the ratio of each category. If you choose to keep your categories unweighted, TeacherPlus automatically combines the total number of possible points in all categories and calculates a marking period average.
- Annotations: With the gradebook, you can add and enter score annotations through the Grading menu.
- Comments and Narratives: Just as you could in the Silverlight version, comments and narratives columns can be included in reports and also sent to AdminPlus.
Rediker President Andrew Anderlonis notes, “With our next generation technology built on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, we are able to deliver a product to our customers that is not only easy to use, but is leaps and bounds above our competitors. The HTML5 version of TeacherPlus Gradebook not only offers cross-browser compatibility without requiring plug-ins, but also improved performance speed, and a responsive user experience on mobile devices.”
Additional Silverlight TeacherPlus Gradebook features are still in development and include, but are not limited to: archived gradebooks, skills calculations and a Management Site. “Rediker Software continues to work throughout the year to bring the most comprehensive, full-featured version of TeacherPlus Gradebook for HTML5,” Rocha said.
The ability to import skills/standards into the TeacherPlus Management Site is also expected to be available in HTML5 this winter. This enhancement will include several new options for calculating linked skills.
