Rediker Software was recently named Business of the Year by the East of the River Chamber of Commerce (ERC5). In selecting the company for this honor, the Chamber's board of directors cited Rediker's commitment to the region's workforce and growth, as well as its contributions to the community.
Accepting the award at the annual ERC5 meeting on June 21st, held at Hampden's Great Horse Country Club, Rich and Gayle Rediker noted that if not for the efforts and dedication of the Rediker employees the award would not have been possible. Company President Andrew Anderlonis also attended the event and commented later, "We are truly honored with this recognition of our continued successes as a multi-generational family business. After nearly four decades in the technology business, our investment in the local community is still helping to create jobs and internships in Western Massachusetts as we continue to grow," he said.
"Rediker is fully committed to our amazing customers and supportive community for the future as we continue to build and support the best school software that is used here both locally and around the world," Anderlonis said.
Joining Rediker Software at Great Horse was Anthony Cignoli, who was named Citizen of the Year by the ERC5. Cignoloi, President of the Anthony A. L. Cignoli Company, was recognized for providing public, media and governmental relations for many charitable organizations. Founded in 1992, the A.L. Cignoli Company serves political and corporate clients across the United States.
Rediker Software, located in Hampden, is a privately held corporation that has been providing school administrative software solutions for close to 40 years. Founded in 1979, CEO Rich Rediker started the company after successfully developing a class attendance program while teaching high school chemistry. As a teacher, he sought a better method of tracking class attendance, and ultimately established his own software program to address this issue.
Today, that attendance tool has developed into a full student information system that is used by thousands of schools in the United States and around the world. Rediker Software employs nearly 100 people and is headquartered in a 33,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility in Hampden.
