Report Writing: Level I

DAY 1 OF THE 3-DAY REPORT WRITING TRACK

What you will learn:

  • The basics of generating reports throughout Administrator's Plus.
  • Search, sort, create and save queries & groups.
  • Report generating skills that can be used in all modules throughout the program.
  • Modify existing reports and customize them to your school's needs, specifically labels and letters.
  • Basic report writing codes in the Database, Attendance, and if time permits, Discipline modules.

Who should attend:

  • This session is for the user who has intermediate-level A+ experience, but beginner-level report writing skills.

Prerequisite:

  • This class is a prerequisite for RW2 & RW3

TeacherPlus Gradebook

What you will learn:

  • Every aspect of the TeacherPlus Gradebook and Management Site from setup to the integration with the portals and mobile apps. Topics covered will include:
  • How the settings in the manager affect what the teachers can and cannot do in the gradebook.
  • How to create logins for substitutes. How to limit what they can do.
  • Management Reports. How to easily query all gradebooks and produce a plethora of reports.
  • The integration of data with the portals and mobile apps.
  • All of the different ways to calculate averages.
  • Standards-based and skills-based grading.
  • New features that have been recently added.

Master Schedule Building for High Schools

What you will learn:

  • Learn to build the best possible master schedule for your school using the Super Deluxe Schedule Builder.
  • The scheduling process from beginning to end.
  • The importance of pre-planning.
  • Understanding conflict matrices and how they can improve your schedule.
  • Scheduling logic: the order of placing sections.
  • How to use the builder to schedule rooms and teachers based on availability and students’ course requests.
  • How to resolve and minimize conflicts.
  • How to use the built-in master schedule board to improve your schedule.
  • Understanding the many settings “under the hood” of the schedule builder and how they can be used to tweak and improve your schedule.
  • Explore alternative types of schedules.

Who should attend:

  • Anybody having anything to do with building a master schedule for a high school. (While the focus will be primarily on high schools, much of the scheduling process also applies to middle schools.)
  • Administrators new to scheduling are welcome, even if they do not have a lot of experience in Administrator’s Plus.

Prerequisite:

  • Attendees should have some knowledge of their own school’s scheduling needs and/or some general knowledge about high school scheduling.

Level:

  • Intermediate (This session will not cover basic tasks in AP used to setup the scheduling process, such as entering courses and requests.) NOTE: If you are an elementary school, or your class schedule rarely changes from year to year, please refer to the other classes on scheduling offered during the week.

  • Enter tardies and produce late slips to class; make corrections to student attendance.

  • This workshop is for the intermediate-level Administrator’s Plus user with intermediate-level report writing skills.

Become a Report Writing Master: Level III

Level: Advanced

DAY 3 OF THE 3-DAY REPORT WRITING TRACK

What you will learn:

  • Build on the skills learned in the Level I and Level II classes.
  • Briefly review the basic codes learned in the Level I class.
  • Briefly review the intermediate codes learned in the Level II class.
  • Cover more advanced report writing codes including: course table box code, GPA codes, honor roll box code, and department credit code as time permits.

NOTE: Attendees should bring report writing projects (or ideas of report writing needs) to the session that they are interested in working on. Anything created or modified can be taken back to the school on your USB drive with instructions on how to install it.

Who should attend?

  • Any user who has intermediate-level Administrator’s Plus experience, and intermediate to advanced-level report writing skills.

Prerequisite:

  • Must take RW1 and RW2

THIS ALL-DAY SESSION IS FOR THE BEGINNER TO INTERMEDIATE USER.

What you will learn:

  • Setting up the grade table & understanding how to set up and run various honor rolls.
  • Using the grade search function within the Report Cards module.
  • Using "skills" with courses for report card purposes.
  • Various methods for scheduling students into classes.
  • Entering your already-built section list.

Who should attend?

  • This session is for educators at elementary and middle schools who want and introduction to the Report Cards module. It is designed for users who desire a more intensive, hands-on approach to understanding the basics.

Admissions Day 2

What you will learn:

Finish up any topics left over from Wednesday’s class. Then, attendees will learn:

  • The steps necessary to set up and generate customized letters and reports using Admissions Plus Pro data.
  • How to export applicants who have completed the process to Administrator’s Plus.
  • See how the new online application process works.

Who should attend:

  • Admissions Plus Pro users who need to set up and generate customized letters and reports and are interested in learning more about online applications. The entire two-day course is “hands on” except the online portion.

Prerequisite:

  • Day one is a prerequisite. This session is continued from Wednesday.

Who should attend:

  • Administrator’s Plus users whose job it is to calculate GPAs, determine which students qualify for the honor roll, and print the honor roll and certificates.
