This session is for those users who have been using the gradebook in their school and want to interact and ask questions to utilize all aspects of the TeacherPlus manager and gradebook.

  • How the settings in the manager affect what the teachers can and cannot do in the gradebook.

Report Writing Day 1 - Basic Report Modification

Day 1 of the 3-Day Report Writing Track

Prerequisites:

  • Previously completed Data Base Module training (online or at a workshop)
    OR
  • Used AdminPlus for at least 3 months

What you will learn:

  • Run reports from print program.
  • Include Student DB and Contact DB information in print program reports.
  • Use AdminPlus as a tool to pre-code a DB report which is then editable by you.
  • Learn the basic features within the report writing screen.
  • Learn codes used to create/modify a label.
    • Modify an existing label for different content and different label size.
  • Learn basic codes used to create/modify a letter.
    • Create a letter template for your school.
    • Create an email template for your school.
    • Copy your templates to the Attendance and Discipline Modules.
    • Modify the template to create multiple letters.

Sessions will include time to "play" with the codes learned during the session.

Participants should have ideas of letters or labels they would like to create/modify for their school, and have access to them.

Work time and one-on-one help from the trainer will be included in this session.

Schedule Building for Middle Schools

Various methods to add scheduling items to student records, including:

  • Using the demographic fields to assign students to groups.

  • Understanding scheduling terminology and the required “first steps” for creating a schedule.
  • Creating and configuring the new year.
  • Defining the rotation.
  • Updating the master course list.
  • Understanding and entering student course requests.

Who should attend:

  • This workshop session is for users new to schedule building in AdminPlus. This session will introduce the new user to the school's master schedule, and prepare them for schedule building sessions offered later in the week.

This session will prepare the participant for Wednesday's Master Schedule Building Workshop.

The slower pace will allow for hands-on activities and sufficient time to answer individual questions.

Note: attendees will not build a schedule during this session. It is intended to help attendees complete the steps that need to be completed before a schedule can be built.

    AND

    • Previously completed a Report Writing Level II session OR used General text Box codes on their own in AdminPlus

    What you will learn how to use:

    • The SDB table box to print standardized test scores on a transcript.
    • The GPA box, and then create your own custom GPA box using the General box.
    • The Honor Roll box.
    • The Departmental Credit box.
    • The Transcript box.
    • The Attendance box.
    • The Course Table box.
    • The Advanced box (skills-based report card box).

    Sessions will include time to "play" with the codes learned during the session.

    At the end of this session, participants will have created a "first draft" of their own Report Card or Transcript, so participants should have ideas of reports they would like to create/modify for their school, and have access to them.

    Work time and one-on-one help from the trainer will be included in this session.

    • How to export applicants who have completed the process to AdminPlus.
    • See how the new online application process works.

    Who should attend:

    • Admissions Plus Pro users who need to set up and generate customized letters and reports and are interested in learning more about online applications. The entire two-day course is “hands on” except the online portion.

    Prerequisite:

    • Admissions Plus Pro Day One is a prerequisite. This session is continued from Wednesday.

    Master Schedule Building for High Schools

    What you will learn:

    • Learn to build the best possible master schedule for your school using the Super Deluxe Schedule Builder.
    • The scheduling process from beginning to end.
    • The importance of pre-planning.
    • Understanding conflict matrices and how they can improve your schedule.
    • Scheduling logic: the order of placing sections.
    • How to use the builder to schedule rooms and teachers based on availability and students’ course requests.
    • How to resolve and minimize conflicts.
    • How to use the built-in master schedule board to improve your schedule.
    • Understanding the many settings “under the hood” of the schedule builder and how they can be used to tweak and improve your schedule.
    • Explore alternative types of schedules.

    Who should attend:

    • Anybody having anything to do with building a master schedule for a high school. (While the focus will be primarily on high schools, much of the scheduling process also applies to middle schools.)
    • Administrators new to scheduling are welcome, even if they do not have a lot of experience in AdminPlus.

    Prerequisite:

    • Attendees should have some knowledge of their own school’s scheduling needs and/or some general knowledge about high school scheduling.

    Level:

    • Intermediate (This session will not cover basic tasks in AdminPlus used to setup the scheduling process, such as entering courses and requests.) NOTE: If you are an elementary school, or your class schedule rarely changes from year to year, please refer to the other classes on scheduling offered during the week.
